Power of Attorney
Give Permission to Someone You Trust to Handle
Your Important Financial, Legal, Medical Matters
What is a power of attorney?
They are of 2 kinds, for health and for finances. They are valid during your lifetime. You appoint someone trusted to make decisions for yourself, like if you are out of town or undergoing an operation in a medical setting. Separate Powers of Attorney are created for Healthcare and Finances. Your Healthcare Power of Attorney includes a HIPAA release to allow access to your medical information and a Living Will for end of life planning. A Financial Power of Attorney will allow you to appoint someone else to act on your behalf at financial institutions and to sign documents.
